The Fever Code

The Fever Code by James Dashner

After the sun flares burned down the Earth and a plague killed off the remaining survivors, only a few people were left. Some of those survivors created WICKED, a group hoping to restore the world to the way it used to be. WICKED found Thomas, the perfect candidate for their team. He built the maze that may change everything forever.

This book was very okay. The story itself was not bad however I think the Maze Runner series should have ending with the first three books. I personally felt that this book was unnecessary. I would rate it a 3.5/5

Teen SRC 2018 – The Game of Lives by James Dashner

In The Game of Lives, Michael must stop the cyber-terrorist Kaine from complete cyber domination. Michael and his friends are the only ones that can stop Kaine. If they aren’t quick enough, reality will dissolve very soon.

This book was an excellent finale the the series. There were more plot twists than the second book and the conclusion was very good and left me wanting more. I rate this book a 4.9/5

Teen SRC 2018 – The Eye Of Minds by James Dashner

The Eye of Minds

The Eye of Minds by James Dashner

In a futuristic world, everyone loves the VirtNet, a full mind and body virtuality reality experience. Everything is good in the VirtNet until an unknown gamer starts breaking rules causing harm to others in the real world. Michael is an excellent gamer in the VirtNet and is exactly what the government needs. If Michael accepts the government’s offer, he will need to put his life on the line to hunt down the unknown gamer in the VirtNet.

Although the general theme of this novel – virtual reality in the future, is over used and may not seem interesting, this book did not disappoint. The characters and plot are very captivating and was an enjoyable read. I rate this book a 4.5/5

The Kill Order

The Kill Order by James Dashner

Mark and Trina roamed the Earth like everyone else before the sun flares hit the Earth destroying everything and everyone. They have survived the flares but will they be able to survive the killer virus that is killing everyone?

This book was not nearly as interesting as the rest of the Maze Runner series. The story and characters were hard to feel connected to and there was nothing that made me want to read more. I rate this book a 2/5

Teen SRC 2018 – The Crown by Kiera Cass

The Crown

The Crown by Kiera Cass

Once Princess Eadlyn’s Selection begins, she believes that she may find her love after all. However fun it may be, she is given hard decisions and the chance that she may send home the wrong person.

This book was certainly more interesting than The Heir. I felt closer to the characters in this book and the plot was slightly better. Unfortunately, this book still did not live up to the high standards that I had after reading the first three books in the Selection Series. I rate this book a 4/5.

Teen SRC 2018 – The Heir by Kiera Cass

The Heir The Heir by Kiera Cass

After twenty years since her parents, America and Maxon met and fell in love, it is now Eadlyn’s turn. Princess Eadlyn is given the chance to hold a Selection of her own. Eadlyn is very pessimistic towards the Selection and believes that she will not find the love her parents found. Once the competition begins, she thinks maybe there is a chance for her love story after all.

This book was okay. I had a hard time getting into the book because I disliked Eadlyn’s cold attitude. The characters in this book were definitely not nearly as interesting as the characters in the first generation. This book as I said earlier was very okay. I give it a 3/5.

Teen SRC 2018 – The One by Keira Cass

Prince Maxon and America are growing closer to each other than ever before. America is ready to do her best to get her well deserved future.

The ending book for the first generation of the Selection Series was very good. I agreed with the ending and felt that this book was the most entertaining out of the first three books. I rate this book a 5/5.
