This week I read a pretty classic book: The Hunger Games. I know most of you have probably already read it or have re-read it multiple times but for me, this was the first time. I don’t know why I never read it because it has now become one of my favourite series, right next to Harry Potter and others. This is the story about one girl, the ultimate survivor, who has to become the face of a rebellion in order to save her people. Katniss Everdeen may have started off as a regular girl with a family trapped in the poverty cycle, but after volunteering as tribute for the Hunger Games, a bloody, gore-filled competition conducted every year in which 24 teens are put against each other in a fight to the death to save her dear little sister, Prim, her life took a turn for the worse. This story includes all the elements needed for a intriguing story: adventure, fantasy, romance, and more! You won’t be disappointed after reading it. That’s a promise I can keep.
This series is one of my all-time favourites. I have read all three books so many times that I’ve lost count! It’s great to see that “The Hunger Games” is still gaining readers after having been released for a while.
